Here there be Bens.

Hey, everybody! I'm still out in Abbotsford rocking the Bible College. Things are a bit different then I expected... I thought I'd be going out to Hope every weekend, but I haven't been once yet, though Marcus and I did have an amazing supper. Life is VERY campus oriented. I get off campus for church and youth group, and that's about it. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just that I'm not hanging out with Mandy or her brothers as much as I thought I would after the first day. Actually, I haven't seen them at all since that first day. Things are just so busy here, and when there is free time, I'm using it to get to know the other people on campus.

I love my classes and the teachers are amazing. My walk with God is continuing to be awesome, and it feels like every day I learn something more about his character and his word and the theology and wisdom that he's given us through his word.

I was back on stage for the first time in ages this past weekend performing in a play by an ex-student. I'll be in another play that's put on officially by the school. It all takes place in a little girl's head, and I play a friendly monster, so that'll be awesome. Anyway, I gotta go to a practice for just that play, so I'll see y'all later.

Ya!

Hey there family. This is so great to have this blog! Way to go Mel!!!!
I thought that I would give you abit of an insight into my life nowadays. For me my life is completely emersed in candels. I work at a candel factory, and have entered into the factory life and culture. Let me tell you, this is a world that I knew was around, but had never experienced and now I am not only experiencing it, but I am living in it. I work in the line doing the same repetitive job over and over again, standing on straight concrete for eight hours a day. I start at 7am, and am done at 3pm, and everyone watches the clock like a hawk. It's unbelievable. I think for me the most exciting part of my day is punching in and punching out. I go to work, and have a secret code that I punch into this machine. Then I have to put my hand on this platform with all these minature poles sticking out of it, indicating exactly where to place my hand. It then scans my hand to identify that it is actually me. There is no electric shock, or you don't see this lazar scanning my hand or anything, but if this is the most exciting part of my day, you quickly get the picture of the menotenous life of a candel factory worker. It's pretty crazy. As horrible as I am making it out to be, it is getting better and the people are hillarious and let me just say they have a different vocabulary then I do. Every other word is swearing or cursing, and everything is "f'n" this and that. At first I thought they were "f 'n" upset and very passionate about their "f'n" problems, but I quickly realized that their "f 'n" vocabulary is very limited to that one "f 'n" word. It was abit of a shock, but I started to be quite humoured by the whole thing.
So things are definatly doing okay. My contract ends on the 16th of December, and it may be extended to Christmas, so it is a very short term job but it will help pay for my great adventures in life.
Well, I hope you are all having a great adventure where ever you are, and remember to live SPAFE, spontaneous yet safe!

Wowwee zowee

Ok, so I've created this. I hope it was a good idea. I hope we can use this to stay in touch and such. It's almost a whole year since we boarded the plane, can you actually believe we went there? Honestly. It's like a dream. Anyways I miss being with you all. Right away I want to post some pictures of when Suzanne came down and one of my sisters wedding. Pictures are the greatest.

Hopefully I will not be the only one on here,
Mellary
