Long time no update

Well, it has been forever since this blog was updated and so I thought I would add to this board to make things interesting. Let me share a story that I thought was priceless and a great picture of childhood inoccents.
So, as some of you may know, I teach a grade 3/4 split class once a week; health, safety and manners (I know, I was never an expert on any of these levels). It is a private school and so they don't require you to have a teaching degree or anything to teach there. It is fabulous and gives me a great opportunity to get my foot in the door with teaching and helps me to get a taste of what if feels like to be infront of a classroom. Just great.
Well, one day one of the little girls in my class had brought in her ginneypig to class for show and tell and she had him in a box beside her desk. In the middle of my lesson on personal hygiene, she raised her hand: "Ummm, Miss Klassen, my ginneypig is shaking really hard and I think he's about to have a baby," she trembled with fear in her voice. Trying desperately not to burst out in laughter, I was warmed at the heart to see this girl so innocently expressing her deep concern for her dear friend. I proceeded (in typical Suzanne fashion), to make up some explaination to calm her down and the rest of the class who had jumped to their feet to go and see the labourous ginneypig. I made something up about him being very nervous in the new environment and how the nerves in his body made his fur quiver and yada, yada, yada. It was horrible. One of the other girls after my embarassingly lame excuse, sighed in relief, "I'm glad this happened in health class!" What innocence!
